Mood music: The beginning in the end

The End in the Beginning

I have always identified with the Phoenix of mythology. Where one is completely engulfed in flames and dies in a pile of ash only to be reborn; fresh and new. Sometimes you need a breakdown to rebuild yourself. Music can do that, there is a music to fit every mood and the music that you choose can make the difference from you turning high octane or mellowing out.

Today the mood music I have set up is for "the END" which can actually be a beginning.  There needs to be a push to walk away from toxic relationships. Sometimes all it takes is the right song that just speaks to your soul. I will warn you to exercise caution as you can become borderline psychotic ot just snap completely if you struggle with mental health issues.

With that said, I have personally dealt better with anger than emotional pain. I can get so angry that I actually reboot completely. Anger is my center. I have dealt with toxic relationships my whole life which is what has prompted this current playlist. These are just some of my favorites that give me a boost to just say "I'm out!" The music takes me to a level where I can become detached and emotionless towards someone who has proven that I am better off without them. I hope this helps to those of you who are struggling out there.... Enjoy!

Time to meet me...

Music Really is my life.

For as long as I can remember every moment in my life had an accompanying song. From something as small as cleaning or taking a shower to something as monumental as the birth of my children. I even have a soundtrack pre-approved for my funeral as morbid as it sounds.

Music is in my blood, it's my soul. It's the rhythm of my life!

Music and I go way back...

I'm pretty sure my mother was pregnant with me while attending a Rush concert.
My mother was fairly consistent with her music when I was younger, Classic Rock was always pumping through the house from her 8track player(For those of you who are too young to know what an 8 track player is go ask your grandparents) If we ever reached for the door knob and heard classic Country however, it meant to go back outside and play until dark; Mom was having a bad day! She hasn't changed.

My parents were split up and polar opposites so the atmospheres in each home were just as different. She was a tall slender white woman who was forever stuck in the 80's and my father was a short, built, Mexican who forever looked like a pimp down to his Kangol Hats and he was always onto the "Hip" new trends. I definitely got my love for music from my father. His family had talent too, my uncles were in bands when I was younger and their music ranged from the typical Mexican polka music to, 60's/70's ballads, to christian hymns. My grandfather played a mean accordion as did 2 of my uncles, 2 cousins were drummers and a slew of guitarists. I honestly haven't seen my father touch an instrument that he can't play and oh can he sing!

My mom would sing, but I obviously got my vocal abilities from her! She is known for singing the words at the wrong time, combining two songs together, or just changing the lyrics and say "Don't you hate when they change the words on you?

My Dad could vibe to just about anything except modern rock when I was a teenager, he has grown to love it now though. I think my brother and I broke him to be honest.

I can't play an instrument and I can't sing, but that hasn't swayed me from attempting both and often.
As a teenager I followed in my father's eclectic ways and could easily bounce from Aretha Franklin, to the Doobie brothers, to Hendrix, to Tom Petty, to ICP, to Slayer. I still have my days.

This will be a journal of my travels through genres, concerts, and my soundtracks for living.

Please enjoy the ride!
